IBM introduced a way of shopping with augmented reality






Headline - IBM Scientists showcase mobile applications-shopping kind of augmented reality their first. This service makes it possible to replace the function of store shelves and consumers can receive product information in person, in the form of recommendations and coupons while they browse the shopping aisle.

Upon entering the store, customers can download the application on a smartphone or tablet, and then register and create a profile of the features that are important to them. When users scan their devices on the merchandise, the app will instantly recognize the product through augmented reality technology. So it looks detail image that describes the product, such as material, price, reviews and discounts of the day.

If consumers want the information from their social network can also be integrated into the flow of information. For example, if a friend has reviewed or made comments about the products they see, then the others will be able to see it.

According to Forrester Research, an application developed by IBM's research labs address the fundamental gap between the rich detail on the website, and limited information about a product while shoppers are in the store.

This application is also worthwhile for the retailer. They can use this application to increase in-store traffic by connecting individual consumers. This application can make it easier for retailers to understand the likes and dislikes of consumers, as well as offering related products in other places, such as bananas or milk.
